Last night I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Ballettonet’s latest collaboration with Jasmin Howell of Friend in Fashion.
The collection is divine, let’s just keep it simple and say – I wanted EVERYTHING, literally!
Upon entering the Styling Suite at Westfield Doncaster, we were treated to (countless!) glasses of champagne and a variety of beverages from San Pellegrino – these were complimented with an endless supply of divine canapés and treats, so we were definitely well fed and well hydrated.
It’s no surprise to anyone that the suite was styled to perfection. Featuring wooden stools and tables with rose gold detailing, and offset with faux fur rugs and a personal scent that Jasmin had created especially for the event with the help of the wonderful team from Candlelit and Co, the space was gorgeous and encapsulated Jasmin and her new collection perfectly. As they say, it was very insta!
I am a huge online shopper, but I love a good pop-up so it was wonderful being able to touch and feel the shoes – the internet is amazing but nothing compares to that tactile feel of the product.
Inspired by her love of travel, (a girl after my own heart!) Jasmin has created a collection that will take you from day to night, and from the streets of Melbourne to the ultra cool and edgy New York nightlife – there is something for everyone and every occasion. Her designs are simple and comfortable, yet stylish and versatile.
After a quick introduction, we were treated to Jasmin’s Edit, where she showed us how she would style each of the shoes.
The suede Positano slides came about after Jasmin found herself on a tropical holiday hopping on and off boats (lucky gal!) and realising how difficult it was to keep taking off and putting her shoes back on again. The slides feature a beautiful cushioned suede insole for extra comfort, and eye-catching gold detailing around the heel that can easily dress up any outfit. Available in three colours – Rosé, very complimentary and the hottest colour of spring, Acqua for those looking for something a little different and of course Noir, created with those all-black wearing Melburnians in mind.
The loafers are super comfortable and ultra spongey. They are the perfect addition to any wardrobe and help to inject a little bit of personality into your outfit with three customised embroidered designs featured on the toe. I personally love the blush ‘Bon Voyage’ pair – they make me feel like I’m going somewhere exciting!
And last, but definitely not least is the all-time favourite and absolute wardrobe staple, the Chelsea Boot. Available in matte and patent leather with edgy gold stud detailing around the pointed toe, these boots are heaven! With a moderate heel height, these boots can take you from work, shopping with the girls, to drinks at a bar on Friday night – what’s not to love! Wear them with your favourite dress or pare them back with your favourite denim shorts, these boots are a necessity. Jasmin wore them with a floral dress last night, for an edgier but still pretty night-time look.
Ballettonet are popping up at Inhabit until Monday 22 August, so don’t miss out on seeing their entire collection all in one fabulous space – FYI, don’t forget to look up, a gorgeous installation from Kate Hill Flowers is a beautiful addition to an already stunning space.
