Cotton On has celebrated its 25th birthday with the launch of the 91 Denim range, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed.
The new collection pays tribute to Cotton On’s founder Nigel Austin and his days selling acid wash denim out of the boot of his car at the Geelong markets in, you guessed it – 1991 and he’s certainly come a long way since then.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch at the Highpoint store and it really was a denim paradise.
Channel Nine stylist and editor of Sydney Style Edit, Kara Wilson ran us through the latest looks from the retail chain. Whether you love the cult classic skinny leg jean or my favourite, the always flattering boyfriend jean – Cotton On has you covered.
I couldn’t resist the opportunity to snap up one of the limited edition men’s acid wash denim jackets – it goes with EVERYTHING!
Talented illustrator Bella McGoldrick of BM Illustrations even drew my friend and I in our new denim – we look so much better as cartoons!
Nigel’s entrepreneurial spirit lives on in the 91 Denim collection. No longer is denim seen as a casual alternative, denim staples can easily be integrated into our everyday looks whether that be for work or play – think Kendall and Gigi, they’ve got the off-duty model look down to a T.
Cotton On has continued to thrive as an international retailer, by offering the latest looks at an affordable price. The brand is now stocked in 19 countries and counting. The new 91 Denim range just solidifies the reason why Cotton On has become such a major competitor in a saturated market -I look forward to seeing what’s in store for the future – all hail the Cotton On empire!
